Is this for real?
Moti is a thesis project designed by Kelly Chen, an MFA graduate at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The project is a two-year-long exploration revolving around transportation and transit payment method in the San Francisco Bay Area. This website is the outcome of the student project and doesn’t represent an actual company or acknowledged within this site. Everything is fictional and designed for academic purposes.
How much is the moti Card?
A new Moti Card costs $5. Moti will waive the
fee after you order your card online and sign up
for Autoload.
How to get the moti Card?
To get a Moti Card, you need to download the Moti App, which is available on iOS. After creating an account on the app, you need to upload the photo ID so that we can link your card and your account. You can upload ID either on the app or on the website. Once we receive your information, you'll receive the Moti Card in 7-14 business days, or you can use the app right away.
How to load the money into my moti Card?
To load money into your Moti card, you can simply use the Moti app or go to physical stores such as CVS, Walgreens or
Bart station.

The main goal is to encourage people to take public transportation and reduce car amounts to prevent congestion. Moti provides an easy and united way to transit. on autoload?
Yes. You can set up Autoload, which automatically reloads your Moti card whenever your pass expires or your cash value balance falls below $10.
Why do I need to upload the photo ID?
Because we care about your assets, just like you do. As long as you upload your photo ID, you don’t have to worry about losing your Moti Card. You can easily report the loss, and we’ll send your deposit back to your pocket. Your information will be carefully secured and won’t be used for any other purpose or sell to third parties. That’s our promise.
What should I do if I lose the card?
You don’t need to worry about losing your Moti Card anymore. There is a function called “Report Lost” in the Moti App, which can easily let you get a new one and cancel the previous one just in case anyone uses it. Or you can choose to go cardless when you report lost.
